The Moms identify as a power trio, whose long history of making music together has nurtured a powerful, exciting sound. Officially formed in 2011, The Moms are a permutation of suburban New Jersey kids who have been making music since their elementary school years. What began as a reuniting of creative minds in a New Brunswick closet, quickly evolved into a national D.I.Y. touring act hell bent on their "ride or die" attitude. Their new EP is out now on Bar None records.

Free Burnside Project Download
In honor of the Bar None 30th Anniversary we have released a new record from Burnside Project, titled Syntax and Semantics. This release was recorded over a decade ago, and until now was almost the "album that never was". In retrospect, Syntax and Semantics is the group’s most engaging and diverse collection, with some songs aimed straight at the dance floor and others offering a swirling brew of modern psychedelia, electronica, and dub. Currently the album is available exclusively through PopMatters as a free digital download. There you can also find a track by track commentary from the band, and an interview with Richard Jankovich on the history of the band and what went into making this record.
New Paranoid Style Record
Rolling Disclosure is the furious and unforgettably tuneful full-length debut from Elizabeth Nelson's critically adored garage punk outfit The Paranoid Style. Like Samantha Bee fronting the Sex Pistols, Nelson's coiled rage and comic touch make for a thrilling forced march through the accruing desperations of late period capitalism. Alongside band personnel including Scott McCaughey from the Minus 5 and Bruce Bennett from the A-Bones, Nelson's self-described "Glam Rock For The End Times" has garnered high praise from Robert Christgau, SPIN, Magnet Magazine, The Big Takeover and others.
Record out on digital and vinyl July 15th, 2016. Pre-order for vinyl available now; digital pre-order available June 17th, 2916.
Petra Haden Re-Releases on Vinyl
Petra Haden made a career performing alongside everyone from Beck to Bette Midler, Green Day to Victoria Williams. She had been a member of alternative pioneers That Dog and The Rentals. On her solo debut, Imaginaryland, originally released in 1999 she introduces a new phase of her career utilizing her extraordinary ability to vocalize the sounds of the instruments she hears. On Petra Haden Sings: The Who Sell Out, Petra re-imagines all The Who’s singing and instrumental parts – including drums – and tackles all the interstitial mock radio commercials that are so integral to the original experience. Both records are now available on vinyl for the first time - get your copies today!

Glenn Mercer's Instrumental 'Incidental Hum' out Today!
Glenn Mercer, foundingmember of The Feelies, released a solo instrumental record Incidental Hum. The album comprises fifteen instrumentals, including twelve original tracks along with three covers. The recording was done at his home studio in Haledon with Mercer providing all the instrumentation and producing.
"I would, as an experiment, picture in my mind a scene with a particular environment and then write music to match the mood and place. Once the concept came together, I also allowed for influences from other movie soundtracks like cheesy B horror films, spaghetti westerns and teenage surf flicks.” - Glenn Mercer

Teen Men debut album gets a 8.9/10 from Paste Magazine
Yesterday, June 9th, Teen Men released their debut album self titled album. Teen Men comprises two musicians Nick Krill and Joe Hobson (members of The Spinto Band) and two visual artists Albert Birney (creator of the Simply Sylvio series on Vine) and artist Catharine Maloney (who has exhibited internationally and has a Master of Fine Arts from Yale University).
Quotes from the Paste Magazine Review
"Taking their name from an ad in a 1960s Playboy, the band embodies a blend of mischief and innocent curiosity like a coming-of-age teenager’s hands and eyes on a men’s magazine."
"A first go-round of Teen Men is likely to bring comparisons to the likes of mellower Vampire Weekend and Camera Obscura thanks to its breezy melodies punctuated by poppy instrumentation."
"Meshing the best of the past with the present is exactly what you’d expect a band called Teen Men to be striving to do. "
The band is on tour this summer with Clap Your Hands Say Yeah - check out this tour page for a full list of dates.
GDP & The Front Bottoms Split Out Now!
Get Your Hands on a Copy Today!
The Front Bottoms and GDP share a 7 inch and the results are a compelling cross fertilization of musical ideas
from these New Jersey natives. TFB offer up the radio friendly “Wolfman” and the surprisingly Dylanesque
“Handcuffs”. While GDP is lonely in “Limousine” and sparkin’ a lot in Parking Garage. Run For Cover Records
wants to add that “ GDP is a lanky depressed asshole that is known to a few hundred kids for making drug raps
with a bunch of degenerates. If you see him, kill him.”
