Last week (6/23) Parlour Tricks released their debut album on Bar None Records. 'Broken Hearts/Bones' has been accepted with open arms, which is great news after the band took a turn towards a more pop-style.
“Along with this stylistic [pop] shift, fans will still notice the NYC six-piece’s love for classic rock and country, but Parlour Tricks seem to have found their niche in just going with the flow, when it comes to lyrics and melodies. ”
“Broken Hearts/Bones never sinks into navel-gazing or self-pity, but instead acts as a window into the collective human experience of heartbreak.”
“... the album, including the album’s title track, a slow-dance worthy twinkling young love song, still containing remnants of the band’s prior retro roots, just with drum beats. ”
